Selecting the Correct Large Flange Head Rivet for Your Application
When selecting your dome head blind rivet, you will first want to choose a material that matches what is being used in your application. This can help prevent the galvanic reactions caused by steel and the resulting weakening of the rivet or surrounding material.You also want to make sure the length of the nail rivet is sufficient to create a secure hold. The length of the rivet shank needs to match the thickness of the two pieces of material being fastened, plus you need to add 1.5 times the diameter of the rivet shank to the measurement. The grip range of the large flange blind rivet should also be sufficient for material thickness and the diameter should match the holes being drilled.
