Rivet nuts, also known as blind rivet nuts or nutserts, are tubular rivets that are anchored from one side of the work material. They are internally threaded and counterbored and are designed to increase load bearing in thin materials. Blind rivet nuts are typically made in two designs: One design forms a bulge on the back side of a material as the screw is tightened in its threads; the other design draws into the sleeve instead of creating a bulge.

Our rivet nuts are offered in metric and inch options, and in material options of aluminum or zinc coated steel. Aluminum is a strong, yet lightweight material that provides corrosion resistance, making it ideal for a range of applications. Steel provides higher tensile strength and our steel rivet nuts are zinc coated to help prevent corrosion.
To install a rivet nut, simply insert the rivet nut into the pre-drilled hole, then inert the screw, hand tighten a few turns, then finish installation by stabilizing the bolt with a combination wrench and tightening with a socket wrench. Since rivet nuts can be more sensitive to stripping, it is important not to overtighten. When selecting a blind rivet nut, choose a grip range that matches your material thickness. Also choose a size that fits your drilled holes and the inch or metric size of your fastener.
The rivet nut material should also match your application material to prevent galvanic reactions that can result in corrosion.
