ThreadlockersProducts that cure to form a hard lock and seal that prevents loosening caused by shock and vibration. They can also alleviate rust-lock and perform better than most mechanical lockers. Threadlockers are anaerobic and should not be used on thermoplastics or other plastic materials susceptible to stress cracking. Because the absence of air is required to cure the product, they are not suitable for use in pure oxygen or oxygen-rich environments.
- Low-strength threadlockers: for soft metal fasteners smaller than 1/4” diameter
- Medium strength threadlockers: for locking nuts and bolts larger than 1/4” diameter
- High strength threadlockers: provides permanent locking for nuts and bolts larger than 1/4” diameter
- Wicking grade threadlockers: for use with pre-assembled fasteners and porous die castings
ThreadsealantsThis line of products includes anaerobic and non-curing threadsealants that are intended for use with metal fasteners. The reactions caused by a combination of an active metal and an absence of air causes anaerobic thread sealants to cure into a thermoset plastic, sealing the fastener into place. Non-curing thermosealants, on the other hand, do not harden or cure. Instead, they evaporate over time and create a barrier to gas and liquid. This makes them easier to remove than anaerobic thread sealants, making them suitable for pipes and pipe fittings.
Retaining CompoundsRetaining compounds are anerobic compounds that cure after application and help increase the strength of non-threaded cylindrical metal assemblies. The anerobic compound helps fill voids between close-fitting assemblies, seals joints against leakage and help prevent corrosion.
Liquid Gasket Makers and SealersThere are three types of gasket makers offered from Vibra-Tite: anerobic gasket makers, gasket sealants, and silicone gasket makers. Anerobic gasket makers are liquids that cure after being confined between mating flanges. They help eliminate the need for preformed gaskets and prevent corrosion and thread galling. Gasket sealers are solvent-based and form an in-place gasket, and silicone gasket makers cure with moisture and provide excellent chemical resistance for bonding, sealing and adhering applications.
Adhesives / BondingAdhesives and bonding materials are offered in a range of options including cyanoacrylates, epoxies, hot melts, MMA adhesives, MS polymers, light cure adhesives, structural acrylic adhesives and urethane adhesives. These adhesives are used for a range of applications such as tacking, encapsulating, bonding, sealing, surface prep, and more. View the catalog link below for additional details on each adhesive and bonding product.
Anti-Seize LubricantsAnti-seize lubricants help prevent seizing, pitting, corrosion, galling, and excessive wear and are used for chains, gears, sprockets, cables and fastener threads. These lubricants reduce friction, can withstand high temperatures and pressures, and will not wash, squeeze or burn out. Various options are available including:
- Marine grade anti-seize lubricants
- Aluminum anti-seize lubricants
- Copper anti-seize lubricants
- Nickel anti-seize lubricants
- Food grade anti-seize lubricants
Excel Surface PreparationSurface preparation products can help speed of cure time and improve gap filling and bonding properties of anerobic threadlockers and structural adhesives. Surface preparation options include anerobic primers, cyanoacrylate accelerators, cyanoacrylate primers and structural activators.
- Anerobic primers: speed of cure time and are recommended for stainless steel, galvanized steel, zinc and other metals with inactive surfaces.
- Cyanoacrylate accelerators: eliminate the need to fixture parts and help improve gap-filling abilities of cyanoacrylate adhesives.
- Cyanoacrylate primers: provide a better bonding surface for silicone and thermoplastic rubber materials.
- Structural activators: work with structural adhesives to form a bond and require no mixing or activator.
